PK08335: DFHBRMS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE DISASTER RESPONSE FOR TBSEND_MAP FUNCTION

Error description

• 5697E9300
  Customer is running Web Bridge request. The application issues
  a HANDLE ABEND. DFHBRMS calls DFHBRTB for function TBSEND_MAP.
  This leads to a load of a program (map) which fails with
  RESPONSE(EXCEPTION) REASON(PROGRAM_NOT_LOADABLE) and causes APCT
  abend. DFHBRTB then drops the 'M' suffix of the map and tries
  again to load the program. Again the program fails to load with
  RESPONSE(EXCEPTION) REASON(PROGRAM_NOT_LOADABLE) and DFHBRTB
  returns to DFHBRMS with RESPONSE(DISASTER) REASON x'16' (decimal
  22) indicating BRTB_ABEND. DFHBRMS does not test for DISASTER
  response (only checks for EXCEPTION response) and continues on
  as normal. This eventually leads to additional APCT and ABRQ
  abends and CICS is terminated with DFHPC0409.

  A CICS Web Bridge task handles an abend and then proceeds to
  issue a SEND-MAP for a map which does not exist. The FROM LENGTH
  parameter (explicit or implicit) is used on the EXEC CICS SEND
  MAP command which means that no attempt is made to load the map
  initially by DFHBRMS. Eventually DFHBRTB calls DFHMCY to emulate
  the SEND MAP and the abend APCT is issued at this point.
  DFHBRTB's recovery routine gets control and after issuing
  MSGDFHAP0001 it returns to DFHBRMS with response of DISASTER and
  with the abend in progress flag on (TCAABREC). DFHBRMS receives
  control but does not check for disaster response and so
  continues as though all is well. Processing continues through to
  DFHWBBMS where the SEND MAP is issued and at this point a locate
  descriptor is issued for the non-existent map which results in
  another abend APCT. As an abend APCT is already in progress
  (TCAABREC) and there are now a total of 3 abends, the DFHPC0409
  is issued leading to CICS termination.

Problem conclusion

• DFHBRMS SEND MAP processing has been changed to load the map
  initially whether a from length is specified or not. This means
  that the abend APCT will be issued earlier and handled
  correctly.
