Error description

  • The customer is making a Web Service call from CICS to
    WAS using SOAP over JMS. The problem is that CICS is
    sending the URL with ampersands unescaped and WAS and
    MQ manuals specify that ampersands must be escaped.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When CICS requests a web service using SOAP over JMS, the
    options in the endpoint URL (sent as part of the SOAP message)
    are separated by ampersand('&')
    characters. These ampersands should be replaced by the escape
    sequence '&' in a JMS message.
    The web service provider cannot parse the options correctly
    because the ampersands are not escaped.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPITQ has been changed to replace the ampersand character with
    the escape sequence '&' in the JMS option string.
