APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The APC0 results instead of the APCT because DFHMCPE within
DFHMCX after XCEPT, tests various PGLD_REASONs, but omits to
    check PGLD_REASON = PGLD_PROGRAM_NOT_ENABLED
and so drops through to the APC0.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Application receives an abend APC0 *
    * instead of an APCT. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An application attempted to use a BMS MAP and in doing so,
drove code in DFHMCX to load the MAPSET. However, the MAPSET
was disabled. The application received an abend APC0
implying a serious error occurred on a call to the program
manager domain when trying to link a system program. This is
misleading, a more appropriate abend code would be APCT,
from which it can be determined that the PROGRAM (or MAPSET)
    is disabled.

    Keywords: abendAPC0

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMCX and DFHMCPE$ have been modified and will now test for
a disabled program (mapset) and if true, issue an abend APCT
    rather than APC0.
