APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • CICSPlex SM populates the CICSRGN resource table with the type
    of START that the CICS region performed (STARTUP COLDSTART
    WARMSTART EMERGENCY LOGTERM). If COLDSTART is returned, the
    COLDSTATUS field will indicate if the start was COLD or INITIAL.
    The COLDSTATUS field needs to match the DFHSI1502I message.
    CPSM just passes on the CVDA values that CICS provides on an
    INQUIRE SYSTEM command. These CVDA values are not unique for:
    - START=(COLD,ALL)
    - START=INITIAL
    - START=(INITIAL,ALL)
    These values need to be unique so that the DFHSI1502I message
    and the value in the STARTUP field in CICSRGN table are the
    same.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS INQUIRE SYSTEM COLDSTATUS *
    * returns incorrect value when CICS is *
    *                      started (COLD,ALL).                     *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    In the reported problem, a CICS system was started using the
    'START=(COLD,ALL)' option. A subsequent EXEC CICS INQUIRE SYSTEM
    COLDSTATUS on this system returned a CVDA of value of 789. This
    CVDA equates to INITIAL (ie an INITIAL start), the returned CVDA
    should have been 788 which equates to COLD.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSAIQ has been modified and will now return a CVDA of 788 for
    a CICS region that has been started COLD,ALL.
