APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The MEDIATYPE keyword is not being defined as REF SET in
DFHEITAB. This means that CEDF does not recognize that MEDIATYPE
is an output variable (KESET) and so it makes a copy of the
parameter, which is updated instead of the area pointed to by
    the applications parameter list.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An application is running with EDF active and invokes an EXEC
CICS WEB CONVERSE command with keyword MEDIATYPE specified.
After the command completes EDF shows the MEDIATYPE value to
have been updated. However, the application variable has not
been updated. This is because MEDIATYPE has been defined
within CICS as being an input field only which results in the
original MEDIATYPE value being copied by EDF and only the
    copied value is being updated.

Additional Keywords: CEDF KEREF DFHEDFCC KWCOP CEDX

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEITAB WEB CONVERSE definition for MEDIATYPE has been changed
to REF SET so the keyword is treated as both an input and output
    field.
