APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • During normal processing, an abend occurs. Exit XFCFRIN reports
    an error response. This error code is not checked and CICS
    will continue processing as if the abend did not occur. In this
    case, the customer requested that the error response should be
    checked and the abend be reported.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An abend in global user exit XFCFRIN or *
    * XFCFROUT is not percolated to the *
    *                      application.                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    After GLUE XFCFRIN or XFCFROUT has been invoked by a
    DFHAPEX INVOKE_USER_EXIT call in DFHFCFR, no check is made for a
    non-OK response from DFHAPEX, indicating that the invocation of
    the GLUE failed. If an abend (or loop) occurs in the GLUE, this
    is not percolated to the application and the application will
    end normally.

    Additional keywords: EXCEPTION DISASTER INVALID KERNERROR
                         PURGED USER-EXIT-PROGRAM-FAILURE
                         EXIT_PROGRAM_FAILURE CHANGE_MODE_FAILURE
                         ABEND LOOP INVALID_FUNCTION
                         INVALID_EXIT_POINT

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCFR has been changed to check for a non-OK response from
    DFHAPEX after GLUE XFCFRIN or XFCFROUT has been invoked and, if
    found, a DISASTER response will be percolated to the
    application. This will cause the application to end with an
    abendAFCZ (AFCZ) or an abendAFCC (AFCC).
