Error description
DPPM has been invoked for pattern matching. We are in routine pattern_match_profile. dpta_pm_list_ptr is null, and so we set the response to no match and bypass the loop to scan the dlpl entries. Had we gone into this code, we would have set record match to on or off as appropriate.Immediately after the loop that we have bypassed, we then check record_match. Since this has not been initialized, we fall into code that references dlpl_ptr which again has not been set and we abend. We should initialize record_match to off earlier in this routine.

DFHDPPM is in procedure pattern_match_profile trying to find a profile match for the current program. If a profile match is found then the flag record_match is set on. When the record_match flag is set then DFHDPPM tries to move the profile fields. However it is possible to enter pattern_match_profile with record_match invalidly set on. If this happens and a profile is not found, DFHDPPM may abend trying to move profile fields which don't exist. Keywords: ABEND0C4 S0C4 ABENDS0C4 MSGDFHDP0001 DP0001 DEBUGGER
