APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The generic Hfsfile name that gets written to the catalog
no longer has the asterisk on the end.
When the resource is read in on a warm start there
isn't an asterisk so the URIMAP is not flagged as generic.
This causes the 404 Not Found to be issued when CICS
generates an automatic redirect to index.html in the
    directory named in the URIMAP.

    * trailing wildcard character is not *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A URIMAP definition is created which contains an HFSFILE name
in order to deliver a static response. The name contains a
trailing asterisk wildcard character. This signals to CICS
that path matching is to take place and the HFSFILE name is
generated dynamically to match part of the PATH component of
the URI which the URIMAP applies to.
HFSFILE names are generated correctly until CICS is restarted
with a WARM or EMERGENCY restart. The trailing asterisk wildcard
character is lost across a CICS restart and the HFSFILE is no
longer treated as a generic name. This leads to HTTP 404 Not
    Found errors.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBRP has been changed to ensure that any asterisk wildcard
character at the end of a URIMAP HFSFILE option is recorded
    on the catalog.
