Error description

  • The job output will contain
    %DFHMAINR
    CICS SFR SCIZSAMP customization beginning
    COMMAND PIPE NOT FOUND
         5 *-* 'pipe (stagesep ;)  ' ,' < ddname=IN ;   ',' stem
    memin. ; '
           +++ RC(-3) +++
        24 +++  do i = 1 to memin.0
    Error running DFHMAINR, line 24: Bad arithmetic conversion

    The problem is the PIPE command is part of a non-standard
    software package. This APAR is being taken to make a
    change to allow the installation / customization exec
    DFHMAINR (called by DFHMAINJ) to execute with the standard
    level of REXX runtime available on z/OS, without the need for
    the PIPE command.

    Additional Symptoms: If you have the PIPE command available, it
    may fail in DFHMAINR with the following due to an invalid
    character in the PIPE CHANGE command:
    PIPCHA066E Unacceptable number //
    PIPSCA003I ... Issued from stage 2 of pipeline 1
    PIPSCA001I ... Running "change  job2   //         NOTIFY=
    &SYSUID,MSGCLASS="

    ****************************************************************
    The CICS Service Flow Runtime post-install job, DFHMAINR, may
    not run successfully on some systems. In addition, other
    post-install jobs have redundant JCL statements which need to
    be removed, or have parameters which need to be standardised.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMAINR has been amended so that it no longer uses the PIPE
    command from the BatchPipeWorks component. This is because it
    cannot be guaranteed that all users of CICS SFR will have the
    BatchPipeWorks component installed.
    DFHMAID2, DFHMAINJ, DFHMAMMQ and DFHMAXRD have all been amended
    either to remove redundant JCL statements or to standardise
    parameter names.
