APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The problem is in DFHSOTB in proc tcpipservice_set where
tdb_status is set to tss_opening and then written to the global
catalog. When the region is restarted WARM/EMER the TCPIPSERVICE
is restored. The tdbc_status is checked and any value other then
tss_open will set the TCPIPSERVICE to CLOSED status. This is
code added as a result of FIN APAR PQ87365 being implemented.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: TCPIPSERVICE closed on a restart. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The open status of a TCPIPSERVICE is changed from closed to open
with SET TCPIPSERVICE. DFHSOTD updates the global catalog (GCD)
with the changed state of the TCPIPSERVICE object so it can be
restored in the same state on a warm or emergency restart.

The TCPIPSERVICE is open when CICS is shut down. On a subsequent
warm or emergency restart the TCPIPSERVICE is restored from the
global catalog with the wrong state, closed instead of open. .

Problem conclusion

  • DFHSOTD has been changed to catalogue the correct status of a
TCPIPSERVICE after it has been opened.
