APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • R7 is supposed to be pointing to the XCGLOBAL cntl block but the
XCGLOBAL area has just been FREMAIN'd
    .
    The failing instruction is
    .
      58F07028 or L R15,XCG_URM_ADDR
    .
This failure only occurs if CICSSVC=0 (the default) is specified
in DFHXCOPT, and no CICS region has logged onto IRP since the
    last system IPL.

Local fix

  • Code the CICSSVC parm in DFHXCOPT to point to the SVC you are
using, or allow at least one CICS region to logon to IRP after
each IPL before using EXCI feature.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An abend0C4 is issued within DFHXCPRH if a batch EXCI job is
run and no CICS jobs have run since the IPL. DFHXCPRH is
to return with a reason code of 201, NO_CICS_IRC_STARTED.
After the error situation is detected, DFHXCPRH freemains the
XCGLOBAL area, but then invokes the URM DFHXCURM, and in doing
so attempts to reference the now freed XCGLOBAL area.
    Additional keywords
    S0c4 abends0c4 eibresp initialize_user

Problem conclusion

  • DFHXCPRH has been amended to invoke the URM DFHXCURM before
the XCGLOBAL area is freemained in the case where the reason
    code is 'NO_CICS_IRC_STARTED'.
