PK26952: MSGDFHDS0006 DFHDS0006 INSUFFICIENT STORAGE TO SATISFY GETMAIN (CODE X'0096') IN MODULE DFHDSSR.

APAR status

Error description

• Customer experenced a series of DFHDS0006 code x'0096' x0096
  0096 from DFHDSSR.
  .
  A module issued ADD_SUSPEND. This went to DFHDSSR which needs to
  acquire a Suspend_Resume_Area. This area is 4096 bytes long and
  resides in sp132. DFHDSSR issued a conditional MVS GETMAIN for
  this from MVS_GETMAIN routine but a 0 was returened for
  SUSPEND_RESUME_PTR, implying that MVS GETMAIN was not satisfied.
  .
  However, the dump of DS0006 indicated plenty of free storage
  from Extended Private area was available after VSMDATA was run.

  DFHWBXN acquires a suspend token during task initialisation,
  and the token is normally released at task termination.
  However, if the transaction abends, the token is not released.
  If multiple CWXN tasks abend, the tokens remain in the
  Dispatcher suspend queue area. This eventually results in
  message DFHDS0006 INSUFFICIENT STORAGE TO SATISFY GETMAIN.
