Error description

  • Users who include the .END statement in their CICS region SYSIN
    to delimit the overrides they (temporarily) don't want active in
    their regions will see message DFHPA1927 even for the parameters
    that are ignored. For example, the following SIT overrides
        SIT=S1
        .END
        PRVMOD=(DFHMCY)
    should cause the PRVMOD override to be ignored since it appears
    after the .END statement. You will now see DFHPA1927 continue
    to display SIT overrides that appear in the SYSIN stream beyond
    the .END statement, even though these overrides don't alter CICS
    behavior. The messages are misleading, since they infer the
    .END statement is being ignored.

Local fix

  • no action required, since overrides appearing after .END don't
    affect or alter CICS' operation. However, the additional
    DFHPA1927 messages can be eliminated by removing the unneeded
    overrides after ".END".

    ****************************************************************
    In the reported problem, a CICS STARTUP job contained redundant
    SIT overrides after the '.END' card in the JCL. When CICS was
    started, these redundant overrides were written to the joblog
    within a DFHPA1927 message.  Message DFHPA1927 indicates
    parameters that will override initialization parameters coded in
    the SIT. As parameters coded after the '.END' card are
    ignored this message accompanying the redundant SIT overrides
    should not have been issued.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHPAIO has been modified, message DFHPA1927 for redundant
    SIT overrides coded on lines after the '.END' card will no
    longer be issued to the joblog.
