APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer uses LOCALCCSID of 937. Application issued WEB CONVERSE
but received shorter length of data.
    .
The problem appears to be in DFHWBCL.
After converting the data, wbo_set_buffer2.n is set to
    ccnv_source_buffer_n instead of ccnv_target_buffer_n.
    .
Usually these are the same but with DBCS conversions the target
can be larger than the source data due to the insertion of SO/SI
    sequences.
    .

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect data length returned on EXEC *
    * CICS WEB CONVERSE SET. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An EXEC CICS WEB CONVERSE or RECEIVE has been issued using the
SET option. The codepage being used is a DBCS codepage and there
are DBCS characters in the returned data. When the data is
converted from ASCII into EBCDIC, SO/SI characters are inserted
into the data but the length returned does not include the SO/SI
characters. When the application accesses the data using this
length, it does not receive all of the data.
    Additional Keywords: SOSI SO SI

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBCL has been changed in translate_mbcs_block so that the
correct length is returned to the caller.
