Error description

  • This is the same as apar PQ27891.
The DFHWBTL (WBTL_ADD_HTML_SYMBOLS) seems to be limited to
contain only up to 255 bytes. E.g. &MYTITLE=XX------XX where
XX------XX may only be up to 255 characters.
Problem only occurs when the symbol value exceeds 256 bytes.

    ****************************************************************
While processing an EXEC CICS DOCUMENT CREATE command, DFHDHSL
was called to add or change symbols to a symbol list that
contained two or more symbols. One of the symbols associated
value was greater than 256 characters. DFHDHSL incorrectly
appended the remaining symbol list to the value of this symbol.
The problem may also occur when the CICS Web Interface
Template Manager DFHWBTL invokes the same function
An additional problem fixed by this apar is as follows:
When the document domain manager GETMAINs storage for the symbol
table block subpool the element length is defined as being
fixed, with a maximum length of 8192 bytes. If a symbol is
greater than 8192 bytes, then when it is copied into the table a
storage overlay occurs, leading to unpredictable results, such
as an 0C4 from DFHSMGF, or error message DFHDH0001 with
    abend 0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHDHSL has been changed to correctly process symbols with
associated values greater than 256 characters.
DFHDHDM has been altered so that the symbol table block subpool
    has variable length elements.
