Error description

  • When a START CHANNEL is shipped to a remote system over MRO,
    exception traces and AXGA abends occur in DFHAPCR IMPORT_ALL on
    the receiving system. The problem is that the overall length of
    the flattened channel in the TIOA is incorrect, and so DFHAPCR
    continues to loop looking fro additional data beyond the end of
    the TIOA.
    The reason is that on the sending side, the size of the
    container pool ( cpcb_pool_size) is incorrect -counting each
    container twice. This seems to be a consequence of the change
    made in APAR PK20794.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An abend AXGA occurs when an EXEC CICS *
    * START CHANNEL command is issued for a *
    *                      remote transaction.                     *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an EXEC CICS START TRANSID() CHANNEL() command is issued
    for a remote SYSID, a container pool is built to ship the
    channel data to the remote system. DFHPGCP incorrectly doubles
    the length of the container pool, and an incorrect length
    channel is shipped. This results in an abend AXGA on the remote
    system.

Problem conclusion

  • UK14435
    DFHPGCP has been changed to build the container pool with the
    correct length.
