Error description

  • You are running CICS TS 2.2 and see a large build up of AID
controls blocks in the AOR. Every 8 hours transaction CSRQ
should run and delete expired AID control blocks. While this
task was running, processing MANY of these expired aids, it
reached the ICVR value, so the task was abended AICA. Since
it abended, it did not kick itself off again, so CSRQ never
runs again to delete expired AIDs.

    ****************************************************************
A large chain of AIDs builds up in an AOR. Many thousands of
these AIDs are over 8 hours old. When the CRSQ transaction next
runs, it suffers an ABEND AICA while purging AIDs which have
exceeded the 8 hour purge delay interval. DFHCRQ does not
voluntarily relinquish control to the dispatcher during the AID
purge cycle. Failure to relinquish control exposes it to a
timeout if it exceeds the ICVR runaway interval.
If this happens, CRSQ will not run again and the AID chain may
    grow unchecked.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHCRQ has been changed to periodically relinquish control to
the dispatcher during its AID purge cycle.
