    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A task suspended in ALLOCATE wait is *
    * not DTIMOUTing after an AAL8 abend. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A task makes a remote FC request however all the sessions to
    the remote system are unavailable, so the task enters an
    allocate wait. Due to the task definition, a DTIMOUT and then
    an AAL8 abend occurs. The task then enters recovery and backout.
    Since the original request was a file control one, backout
    finds a FRTE and so attempts to release it. The task attempts to
    unlock the file remotely. However there are still no sessions
    available but because we are in backout a DTIMOUT does not
    occur so the task hangs forever.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHFCFR's recovery routine has been changed. When a file
    request had been shipped it will be checked if recovery is
    due to an AAL8 abend. If so, the FRTE at the time of the
    shipped request will be released.
