    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Receipt of non-HTTP requests against *
    *                      TCPIPSERVICEs with PROTOCOL(USER) may   *
    *                      timeout unexpectedly.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The initial socket receive for a request arriving on a
    TCPIPSERVICE defined with PROTOCOL(USER) uses the SOCKETCLOSE
    value as a timeout. If SOCKETCLOSE(0) is set, the initial
    receive may timeout before data has arrived on the socket.
    This causes the request to be abandoned and the socket is
    closed.
    In releases prior to CICS TS 3.1, all socket receives of
    non-HTTP requests would use a default timeout of 30 seconds.

    ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS :- nonHTTP

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBSR has been changed to use the default 30 second timeout
    when receiving requests on TCPIPSERVICEs defined with
    PROTOCOL(USER).
