Error description

  • An S0C4 abend occurs in DFHZRSY1 (640 base) +x'0A96'. R9 was
    supposed to point to a TCA, but in the originating problem
    record, it instead pointed to an RPL for a terminal. APAR
    opened for additional investigation.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHZRSY1 abend0C4 at X'0A9A' because    *
    * R9 points to an RPL instead of the TCA. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    DFHZRSY1 was called as part of the activate scan process for
    a 3790 userprogram device. DFHZRSY1 was called after the
    BIND because recovery was required.
    If this, in turn, calls DFHZSES or DFHZGET, R9 is used to
    address the RPL from TCTERPLA. R9 is later reused to
    address the TCA, but now holds the address of an RPL
    causing an 0C4 abend at X'A9A' in DFHZRSY1 in routine
    zrsy_module_exit. This in turn causes CICS to fail with
    DFHSR0601 DFHME0116 program interrupt with system task TCP
    in control.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHZRSY1 has been altered to restrict the base register used
    for the TCA to R12.
