Error description

  • CICS has received an FMH7 error flow from a TCP/IP connected ECI
client. The socket exit receive failed with sense code 08640000
function abort, and the conversation is prematurely terminated.
DFHIEIE issued message DFHIE1213 and attempted to translate the
sense code from the inbound FMH7. The code in DFHIEIE does not
handle the output of this sense code correctly. DFHIEIE pulls
the sense code in hex and attempts to insert it into the sense
code field. A dump or trace can view the sense code however it
is not printable nor is it displayable in the message itself.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An ECI connection over TCP/IP received an FMH7 with sense code
08640000 from the client. This correctly produced message
DFHIE1213 but instead of the message displaying the sense code,
it displayed blanks. This is because the sense code was hex data
which had not been converted to character before
    being inserted into the message.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHIEIE has been changed for the processing of
tid_ieie_fmh7_received so that the sense data is
converted to character before being inserted into
    message DFHIE1213.
