PK44242: DFHSM0102 STORAGE VIOLATION. DFHCCNV REFLECTS PEER DISCONNECTED RETURN_VALUE(-1) BUT DATA REMAINS IN RECEIVE BUFFER

Error description

• You are experiencing frequent Storage Violations involving
  DFHCCNV, and reflecting 'PEER DISCONNECTED', RETURN_VALUE(-1)
  RETURN_CODE(1121) REASON_CODE(76650446) error messages, and
  repeated attempts to try to obtain data from the socket.
  The storage violation stems from the SOUS exits which have
  a return value of -1, which is set from a BPX1AIO call and
  return code of 1121 (ECONNRESET). More RECEIVEs are being
  issued and getting a CONNECTION_CLOSED response but the
  RECEIVE buffer still contains data. CICS should not continue
  to receive data after the connection closed.

  An outbound web request is issued with the SET option for the
  system to allocate a response buffer. The request suffers a
  disconnection after the headers have been received but before
  any body data. The receive for data returns a "connection
  closed" response but because of the type of error, TCPIP is not
  called and so the AIORV area (used to return the number of bytes
  of data) is never updated and so it contains residual data. The
  length returned in this field is used by DFHWBCL as the actual
  length even though the connection is closed.
  DFHWBCL loops round issuing receives until the buffer is filled
  and in this case over flowed causing on overwrite.

Problem conclusion

• DFHSOS07 has been changed to clear the response area AIORV
  prior to issuing an aio_call.
