Error description

  • Intermittently, USRCPUT for long-running tasks is
non-sensical. It is either too large. Or it suddenly jumps
    from large to smaller.
This can happen in an environment where Performance Class
monitoring is on most of the time but is turned off and back
on occasionally. If an EXEC CICS MONITOR command is issued
while Performance Class monitoring is temporarily off, the
problem will happen. (TCPIP/CICS Sockets interface code is
one product that does EXEC CICS MONITOR commands.)

    ****************************************************************
If a long running transaction is executing and performance
monitoring is active, if this is then turned off and the
transaction then issues an EXEC CICS MONITOR POINT, the cpu time
interval may contain an invalid value. If performance monitoring
is turned on again this invalid value will appear in the
    monitoring record for this transaction.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMNMN has been changed in read_cpu_time to clear
cpu_time_interval when cpu timing is not active.
