PK48344: PIRT ISSUES MESSAGE PI 0996 WHEN STS ACTION IS INVALID

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If DFHPIRT detects that the contents of the DFHWS-STSACTION
  container are not a valid STS action it issues a generic
  container error message, PI 0996. This message only indicates
  that there was a problem with the DFHWS-STSACTION container and
  does not include detail of the failing value or that the failure
  was due to the content not being one of the valid values.
  A new message should be issued to provide more detail.

  When using WS-Trust as the CICS Web Service security handler,
  the DFHWS-STSACTION container should contain the URI of
  the action that the Security Token Service (STS) should take.
  If DFHPIRT detects that the contents of the DFHWS-STSACTION
  container are not a valid STS action, it issues a generic
  container error message, DFHPI0996.
  This message only indicates that there was a problem with the
  DFHWS-STSACTION container and does not include detail of
  the failing value, or that the failure was due to the content
  being invalid.
  A new message is required to aid diagnosis.

Problem conclusion

• DFHPIRT has been altered to issued a new message, DFHPI1000,
  to report the invalid STS action.
  DFHMEPIE has been altered to add the new message.
  
  The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS Version 3 Release 2
  Messages and Codes manual, GC34-6827-00, has been altered
  to add message DFHPI1000, after message DFHPI0998, on page 768
  as follows:
  
  DFHPI1000  DATE TIME APPLID  The outbound
            router program, DFHPIRT, has detected an invalid
            URI in the DFHWS-STSACTION container.  The URI
            was:  ' URI '.
  
  EXPLANATION:  The outbound router program, DFHPIRT, was
  unable to successfully operate as a trust client as it was
  unable to recognise the URI contained in the DFHWS-STSACTION
  container.
  
  SYSTEM ACTION:  The program abends.
  
  USER RESPONSE:  Ensure that the DFHWS-STSACTION container
  has been created and populated correctly before linking to
  the outbound router program.
