    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EDF error ?TSPACEI IN GETSPACE issued *
    * when first level program executes EXEC *
    * CICS commands with NOEDF specified. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
EDF is being used to debug an application program which makes
several EXEC CICS WRITEQ TS calls which have option NOEDF
specified, on a CICS region with exit XTSEREQ active. The
exit also makes EXEC CICS calls and these are debugged by
    CEDF.
In this case, EDF regards the exit as the first level program
so when return is made to the application program the storage
area use to copy parmlists ( TSPACE ) is not being reset.
As a result, every time the exit is called again a new piece
of storage is allocated from TSPACE until it becomes depleted
and CEDF issues message 'EDF ERROR: ?TSPACEI IN GETSPACE'.
When the screen is cleared message ABEND AED6 IN EDF: EDF
SESSION TERMINATED. HIT CLEAR TO CONTINUE.' is issued.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEDFCC has been changed to reset TPSACE storage to zero when
returning to EDF's initial stack level program.
