Error description

  • You are using the DFHWBTTC to run the 3270 application
    from the WEB.
You have coded the program as a hybrid commarea/channel program.
When a return is made to CICS, it is done using RETURN TRANSID
/CHANNEL option - after copying the "commarea" and "tsq" areas
    into separate containers.
    .
The next time the program is invoked, code is in place to check
whether the program was invoked with a commarea. If it wasn't,
then you issue the GET CONTAINER command to retrieve the
"commarea" and "tsq" areas that were placed in the channel
    /containers by the prior call.
    .
This works fine when you execute the program on a 3270 device,
but using a browser through LINK3270, it comes down on second
time into the program in the GET CONTAINER command:
     Function code 3414
     Response code x'10' (invalid request)
     Response-2 x'04'
    .
Further investigation, indicated that CICS didn't get a
    BIND_CHANNEL for the CHANNEL_TOKEN in LINK3270 vs. 3270 device
    case.
    .
LINK3270 should support channels and containers, and it
shouldn't make any difference whether the TCTTE is a real
    facility or a bridge facility.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A GET CONTAINER CHANNEL instruction *
    * fails in a program which was invoked *
    *                      across a Web Bridge link                *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Using the Web Bridge, one program creates a channel container,
then invokes another program via an EXEC CICS RETURN TRANSID
CHANNEL command. However, the program invoked by the EXEC CICS
RETURN issues a CONTAINER NOT FOUND condition, as the channel
    was not successfully passed across.

Problem conclusion

  • The Web Bridge client attach program DFHBRXM has been amended to
    include a PGCH BIND_CHANNEL call during BIND_XM_CLIENT
processing. The absence of this PGCH call was causing the
channel not to be passed through the Web Bridge.
