  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If the QR becomes dubbed then all subtasks of a JVM
    initializtion becomes threads instead of processes. This leads
    to BPX1MSS failure when starting JVMs. If the QR does not get
    dubbed then there is not a problem. Some of the errors seen
    include, but are not limited to abend4093 -90 in CEEABND +x'40'
    message CEE5101C, RC 156 Reason code 0D070200, indicating the
    JRPSWKEYNOTVALID.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If the QR TCB is dubbed as a UNIX *
    *                      process, a subsequent BPX1MSS USS       *
    * call made by an open TCB may fail *
    *                      with CEE5101C return code 156           *
    *                      reason code 0D070200.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    If the QR TCB is dubbed as a UNIX process, because a
    USS call has been issued from it, and another open TCB later
    issues a USS call for the first time, this will cause the open
    TCB to be dubbed as a UNIX thread.
    If a J8 or J9 TCB is dubbed as a thread this can cause
    failure of the BPX1MSS call issued by LE during CEEPIPI
    enclave creation. BPX1MSS can only be issued once per process
    and it must be issued in the same key as the process it was
    created in.
    Terminating a JVM which is started as a thread can also cause
    CSOL to abend leading to a hang in CICS shutdown.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHKEDS has been altered so that a BPX1SDD, SET_DUB_DEFAULT,
    call will be issued when each open TCB is created. This will
    cause every open TCB to be dubbed as a process when it issues
    its first USS call.
