PK52104: DFHJUP GET DFHLG0192 IF CUSTOMER DEFINE THE LOG STREAM AS CF DUPLEXING.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• DFHJUP get DFHLG0192 if customer define the log stream as CF
  duplexing. ( Structure is defined with DUPLEX(ENABLED) )
  This problem is solid if there are no active connector for the
  structure. If there are no running CICS regions for the log
  streem, DFHJUP is first connector then MVS logger start rebuild
  of the structure. When DFHJUP issues IXGBRWSE FOR REQUEST START
  , MVS LOGGER retruns MVS LOGGER CODES X'00000008' X'00000861'.
  Rsn861 means IxgRsnCodeRebuildInProgress.
  Re-run of DFHJUP get same error again and cannot run DFHJUP.
  It looks DFHJUP does not retry the IXGBROWSE after the reason
  code 861.
  

Local fix

• SETXCF STOP,REBUID,DUPLEX command to stop duplexing before
  the DFHJUP job.

  DFHJUP may be executed against a target logstream what was
  defined for coupling facility duplexing. This means that its
  structure is defined with DUPLEX(ENABLED). If there are no
  active connectors against the structure at the time of the
  job (i.e. if there are no running CICS regions for the log
  stream) then DFHJUP is the first connector and the z/OS
  Logger can initiate a structure rebuild when the DFHJUP
  job issues its IXGCONN call to connect to the logstream.
  When DFHJUP then issues its IXGBRWSE to start browsing,
  the Logger returns rsn code X'00000008' resp X'00000861'.
  Rsn861 means IxgRsnCodeRebuildInProgress.
    Since there is no logic to wait and retry the request
  after this temporary error condition, DFHJUP can fail
  with DFHLG0192. The disconnect from the logstream will
  terminate the structure rebuild. This means that a
  re-run of DFHJUP will get the same error again.

Problem conclusion

• DFHLGSSI and DFHLGIGT have been changed to check for a
  temporary error condition with a response code of 861, and
  wait for 1 second then retry the request once more, up to
  a maximum of 60 attempts before allowing the job to fail
  as before.
