    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    An application, browsing named counters via the DFHNCTR call
    interface, abends with an ABENDAICA, and all subsequent named
    counter requests return an EIBRESP2=306.
    As part of the CICS runaway abend processing, AXM does not
    release the request element. All subsequent requests then fail
    with INVREQ and RESP2 value of 306 as the free chain, SCRQSWTF,
    contains an address of zeros.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHNCIF has been altered to call AXM to reset the named counter
    server environment following a failure.
