Novalue error at line 820 of DFHMAINR: TABLE.17.2
    .
If MQ YES is specified, the CICS SFF 3.1 Users Guide indicates
only the HLQMQ input statement in required, however the THE_QMGR
and the CICS.INITQ optional parameters are also mandatory.
    .
    Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): TABLE 16.2 17.2 parse

regardless of whether MQ NO|YES is specified.

The DFHMAINJ sample job creates the runtime libraries for CICS
Service Flow Runtime. It contains mandatory and optional
parameters. If the optional parameters are deleted then
DFHMAINR (an exec called by DFHMAINJ) will issue error message:
                                                                   .
CIAI1014S DFHMAINR has encountered an unrecoverable error.
Novalue error at line 820 of DFHMAINR: TABLE.16.2
                                                                   .
(NB: The line number and TABLE value may vary depending on which
    optional parameter has been deleted).

Problem conclusion

  • The following comment has been added to DFHMAINJ (optional
    values section):
                                                                   .
"If an optional value is not required then replace
the example parameter value (eg: ivp_cics_sysid)
with blanks. DO NOT REMOVE THE LINE OR COMMENT IT
     OUT."
                                                                   .
The following update will be made to the CICS Service Flow
Runtime User's Guide (SC34-5899-07). The section titled
'Customizing the setup procedure DFHMAINJ' will have point
2 amended so that it reads as follows:

    2. Provide values for the mandatory parameters and any optional
parameters if required. The list of parameters is described
in DFHMAINJ parameters. If an optional value is not required
then replace the example parameter value (eg: ivp_cics_sysid)
with blanks. DO NOT REMOVE THE LINE OR COMMENT IT OUT.
