Error description

  • INQ File will cause DFHEIQDS to ABEND with an 0C4 at offset 9FE
with user exit XFCAREQ active, argument list incorrect.
This is done in routine INVOKE_XFCAREQ in DFHEIQDS. At offset
X'3CA6 we are comparing the number of parameters being copied
    to 57 (X'39')
This does not take into accout the new parameter IQS_RBATYPE
IQS#58CV. This parameter does not get copied into the new
    argument

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An inquire on an ESDS file may *
    * result in an ASRA abend if *
    * user exit XFCAREQ is active. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Issuing an inquire file using CEMT or EXEC CICS INQUIRE
against an ESDS file may result in an abend ASRA. User exit
XFCAREQ must be active for this to occur. The abend will be
accompanied by a CICS JOBLOG message DFHAP0001 stating
"An abend (code 0C4/AKEA) has occurred at offset X'000009FE'
    in module DFHEIQDS."
An abend occurs if RBATYPE has been specified on the command.

The local structure in DFHEIQDS that takes a copy of the
argument list is now too small. CICS attempted to access
a parameter in the argument list that was not available.

Additional Keywords: 0C4 AKEA EIQDS 9FE XFCAREQC INQ CECI

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIQDS has been updated to ensure that the local copy of
the arguments list is big enough for all arguments that are
    passed to DFHEIQDS.

is the address of a 4-byte area containing the data from
       RBATYPE.
