Error description

  • This problem is caused by APAR PK45231 / PTF UK25501. The
problem happens on every remote start channel where the
transaction definition in the target region specifies
    ROUTABLE(YES).
    .
The problem is that the call destroy_channel_copy added by
PK45231 to DFHEIIC following CALL SHIP_ROUTABLE_START is not
always appropriate. In the customer's case and in our recreate,
SHIP_ROUTABLE_START does not end up shipping the START anywhere.

    ****************************************************************
A customer application processes container channels via a
transaction which is defined as ROUTABLE(YES) but which is to
be STARTed locally. However, DFHEIIC incorrectly deletes the
channel copy, and this results in severe error X'05CC' in module
    DFHICXM.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHEIIC has been amended such that the channel copy delete,
which is done upon return from routine SHIP_ROUTABLE_START,
is only performed if the resultant START is to be remote.
