Error description

  • After application of PK55587, dynamically routed DPL and EXEC
CICS command might return a non 0 value in DYRERROR although
    the request has completed successfully.
Other successful function ship requests, such as file control,
might also return a non zero response.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DYRERROR may contain nonzero value *
    * followed successfully routed DPL *
    * or EXEC CICS START request. *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A dynamically routed DPL request or EXEC CICS START may
incorrectly return a bad response in the DYRERROR field in the
commarea passed to the user dynamic routing program.

These commands result in a CONVERSE command which is processed
by DFHISP. PK55587 changed DFHISP to use register 4 to address
its parameter area, however the parameter area was not correctly
readdressed following the call to the CONVERSE routine,
resulting in erroneous data being put into :-
    - the return code from DFHISP (ISCRQRC),
    - the Data1 & 2 portions of the exit trace from DFHISP.

The unpredictable value in ISCRQRC may result in a bad response
in DYRERROR, which in turn may result in a SYSIDERR being
returned by the EXEC CICS LINK or EXEC CICS START command.

Problem conclusion

  • UK31454 UK31463
DFHISP has returned to using R2 to address the Input Parameter
Area. The addressability issue has be corrected by moving
the routine BLDCONN to a subroutine.
