PK59948: CSV028I ABEND306-0C AT CICS STARTUP, CSV019I REQUESTED MODULE DFHKETCB NOT ACCESSED. DFHSO0001 S0C1/AKEA DFHSODS AT SHUTDOWN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During CICS Region initialization, DFHSODS does an ADD_TCB for
  the SP TCB. If this works, it does a CHANGE_MODE to that TCB,
  but it does not check the response.
  The ADD_TCB has succeeded but the SP TCB abends immediately with
  S306. This happens because third party software has switched
  the JSCBAUTH bit on during this phase of region initialization.
  DFHSODM does a CHANGE_MODE to the SP TCB. This fails as the
  SP TCB has abended and now been detached. DFHSODM fails to
  detect the CHANGE_MODE error and makes a CREATE_LE_ENCLAVE
  call on the QR TCB instead of the SP TCB.
  The failure to run CREATE_LE_ENCLAVE call on the SP TCB can lead
  to SO0001 abend S0C1/AKEA in DFHSODS during region shutdown.

  If DS level 2 tracing is turned on, in the dump from region
  shutdown you will see a DSAT_RESPONSE of DSAT_EXCEPTION, x'02',
  and DSAT_REASON of x'17', or decimal 23, corresponding to
  DSAT_TCB_FAILED.

  During CICS initialization, and ABENDS306 occurs when DFHSODM
  attaches the SP TCB. The abend occurs because third party
  software has flipped the JSCBAUTH flag on. The SP TCB
  terminates abnormally. The SP TCB is critical if SSL support
  has been requested for the CICS region.
  DFHSODM now attempts to switch onto the SP TCB. This fails
  but DFHSODM fails to detect the failure.
  CICS initialization completes successfully as SSL support has
  not been requested.
  During CICS termination, DFHSODM attempts to delete the SP TCB.
  DFHSODS is called which attempts to switch to the SP TCB. This
  fails and DFHSODS suffers a critical error leading to a program
  check.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFHSODM has been changed to detect if the switch to the SP TCB
  has succeeded. If this fails message DFHSO0002 will be issued
  with new error code X'0114'.
  If this failure occurs and SSL support has not been requested
  the failure is tolerated and there is no attempt to delete the
  SP TCB during CICS shutdown.
  If this failure occurs and SSL support has been requested,
  socket domain initialization will fail causing CICS to abend
  during startup.
