Error description
Customer is terminating CICS and has automation software that takes action after a specified time has elapsed. In this scenario, a CEMT P SHUTDOWN command was issued by task 1980. The shutdown did not complete for a long period of time and the automation software issued a CEMT SET VTAM FORCECLOSE command that runs under task 1981. This command causes bit TCTVFC to be turned on in the TCT Prefix (TCTFX). Eventually, task 1980 makes it to the shutdown PLT phase. The PLT program issues an EXEC CICS SET VTAM CLOSED command which causes bit TCTVVTHO to be turned on in the TCT Prefix. . Bits TCTVFC and TCTVVTHO being turned on at the same time is an invalid combination. Because TCTVVTHO (orderly shutdown) is turned on, DFHZSHU eventually branches to label ZSHUS010. Within this label, we also test TCTVFC (force close). Because it is turned on, DFHZSHU sets TCTEDMMI(instance identifier) to x'05' instead of x'01'. Now when message DFHZC3441 is issued by DFHZSHU, the message modules have problems and issue message DFHME0110 due to message DFHZC3441 not having an associated instance 5 identifier (insert 5 identifier). Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHME0110 OPTIONAL VALUE 05 IS * * MISSING FROM INSERT 03 FOR MESSAGE * * DFHZC3441 is received when * * CEMT SET VTAM FORCECLOSED is issued * * after a CEMT P SHUT. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DFHME0110 OPTIONAL VALUE 05 IS MISSING FROM INSERT 03 FOR MESSAGE DFHZC3441 is received when CEMT SET VTAM FORCECLOSE is issued after a CEMT P SHUT. Bit TCTVFC is turned on to indicate the FORCECLOSE. When the CEMT P SHUT command is processed, a PLT program issues an EXEC CICS SET VTAM CLOSE COMMAND. This causes bit TCTVVTHO to be turned on indicating an orderly close. DFHZSHU doesn't expect both force close and orderly close flags to be on together and sets up a module instance of '05' for message DFHZC3443 when the actual message being built is DFHZC3441. Message DFHZC3441 doesn't have an optional value '05' for insert 3. Keywords: msgDFHME0110 msgDFHZC3441 msgDFHZC3443
Problem conclusion
DFHEIQVT has been changed so that if bit TCTVFC (indicating a FORCECLOSE) is on, bit TCTVVTHO (indicating a normal close) will not be turned on.
