Error description

  • The CICSPLEX SM Administration Guide on section 1.10.2.3 CMAS to
CMAS link definitinos - CMTCMDEF, Table 41 entitled "Fields in
CMTCMDEF views" is missing a section of notes under RECEIVE
BUFFER size and SEND BUFFER SIZE in the V3.2 manual that was
was included in the V3.1 version, dealing with connections to
MRO. The note that is missing is as follows:
    | Note: For MRO, the SENDSIZE and RECEIVESIZE values on a
    | connection are mostly ignored by CICS, especially when the
    | only use of the connections is CICS DTP (which is the model
    | that CMAS to CMAS communications uses). Therefore, it does
    | not really matter what it is set to. More important for MRO
    | links is IOAREALEN. However, with a CMAS to CMAS link
    | definition you cannot change the IOAREALEN used on the
    | SESSIONS definition that is subsequently installed in the
    | CMAS. CICSPlex SM sets the IOAREALEN of MRO SESSIONS
    | definitions to 8192, which is the maximum size of the buffer
    | that CMAS to CMAS communications uses.

The CICSPlex SM Administration manual was updated in V3R2M0 to
remove information on using the TSO End User Interface (EUI).

This update removed required information on setting CMTCMDEF
    send and receive buffer sizes.

Problem conclusion

  • The CMTCMDEF object help has been updated to include the
missing CMAS to CMAS definition send and receive buffer
size information. This update will allow this information
to appear in the CICSPlex SM WUI view help and also the
    CICSPlex SM Administration manual.
