    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: An attempt by CICS Transaction Gateway *
    *                      7.1 to shunt a UOW over a CICS IPIC     *
    *                      connection fails with ABENDASP1.        *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A CICS Transaction Gateway Java application starts an extended
    conversation using an IPIC connection. The transaction enters an
    in doubt state and CICS Transaction Gateway loses contact with
    the client.
    CICS Transaction Gateway attempts to send a shunt request to
    CICS to shunt the unit of work for the CICS transaction.
    This shunt request is not recognized by CICS and an ABEND ASP1
    gets issued.

    ADDITIONAL KEYWORDS :- ABENDASP1

Problem conclusion

  • DFHISUOW has been changed to detect a shunt request from CICS
    Transaction Gateway as part of an FMH7.
    DFHISRE has been changed to return the appropriate sense code
    to CICS Transaction Gateway when CICS receives a commit flow
    for an unknown unit of work.
