Error description

  • When the customer uses the View editor under 3.1 and 3.2, he
noticed some of the attributes for the CICSDSA view are no
longer available in the CPSM 3.2 WUI. Under 3.2, the LIMIT
    attribute is:
LIMIT - Maximum size of DSA
where as under 3.1, the lIMIT attribute is:
LIMIT(Normal) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Thousand separators) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage, 1 decimal place) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage, 3 decimal places) - Maximum size of DSA
    .
The same is also true for CURRALLOC, HMWALLOC, HWMFREE, LWMFREE,
    SIZE, STGFSIZE, and STGHWM.

The WUI view editor method EYU0VOBR (VOBR - Build MOS Object
Attribute Tables) is called to build the attribute selection
lists used when adding new attribute content to a WUI view.

Based upon the attributes data type and length, different
options for the same field may be generated. A four byte numeric
attribute should include 'Storage' options for example:

LIMIT(Normal) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Thousand separators) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage, 1 decimal place) - Maximum size of DSA
LIMIT(Storage, 3 decimal places) - Maximum size of DSA

A number of numeric Resource Table attributes were defined in
previous releases as four bytes in length. These attributes
would support the 'Storage' options. However some of these
attributes have been increased in length in CICSPlex SM V3R2M0.
As VOBR only allows the 'Storage' options for four byte fields
view customization performed at previous releases might no
    longer be possible.

Problem conclusion

  • VOBR has been changed to allow the 'Storage' options to be used
if the Resource Table attribute is at least four and not more
    than eight bytes long.

Changes have also been made to EYU0VODN (VODN - Numeric Data
Formatting) that will allow storage values to be displayed and
entered based on terabytes (TB), petabytes (PB) and
    exabytes(EB).
