Error description

  • ICH408I when using CICS bridge with lowercase password.
    LOGON/JOB INITIATION - INVALID PASSWORD
    IRR013I  VERIFICATION FAILED. INVALID PASSWORD GIVEN.
    In CICS TS V3.2, the CICS bridge is not folding the
    password into uppercase prior to passing it to the
    WMQ queue manager for verification.

    The password provided to the CICS MQ True is used unchanged when
    passed to the security manager for authentication.  If it
    contains lowercase characters and mixed case password support is
    inactive then messages DFHMQ0749E and ICH408I will report an
    authentication failure.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQTRU has been changed to uppercase the password if mixed
    case password support is inactive.
