APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Translating and assembling a CICS Assembler program
    having both:
    a) one or more leading *PROCESS statements
    AND
    b) using DFHEAP1$ with an EXEC PARM operand,
the CICS translator (DFHEAP1$) for assembler does not honore any
*PROCESS statements and as a consequence the assembler options
    are not passed to ASMA90.

Local fix

  • Omit the PARM operand of the EXEC job control for the translator
and specify all options via *process statement

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: *process statement is not honoured *
    * by CICS translator if the translator *
    * option CICS has been specified. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The *process assembler statement can be coded to specify
assembler options. However, the CICS translator is ignoring
the statement if the 'CICS' translator option is in effect,
and the *process statement is not passed on to the assembler
    job step.
The problem is only applicable to assembler programs.
    Additional keywords
    XOPTS jobstep parm

Problem conclusion

  • The CICS translator has been modified to pass any valid
*process statement on to the assembler job step.
