PK66289: APPLIED UK35530, DEFINED CATA AS SHUTDOWN DISABLED, IF MORE THAN ONE MODIFY COMMAND IS ISSUED AFTER PER SHU 08/07/30 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After UK35530 is applied, defined CATA as SHUTDOWN DISABLED and
  after PER SHUT, a modify command is issued from the console and
  a DFHAC2007 message is written to MSGUSR and shutdown continues
  normally. If more than one modify command is issued after PER
  SHUT, one  DFHAC2007 message is written and then the region
  goes into a loop.

  *                      when two MVS MODIFY commands are        *
  *                      issued from the same console.           *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  After a CEMT PERFORM SHUTDOWN is issued, a MVS MODIFY command
  for that CICS region is entered from an undefined console.
  An autoinstall work element for this console is chained off
  TCTCATWE, and an attempt made to attach CATA to autoinstall the
  console.
  However CATA has been defined as SHUTDOWN DISABLED so the attach
  fails, with message "DFHAC2007 Transaction CATA cannot run as
  CICS shutdown is in progress."
  The autoinstall work element is left on the chain.
  When a second command is entered from the same console the
  associated console information block CIB is placed on the
  deferred CIB chain, as it appears autoinstall is still in
  progress for the console.
  CATA can never run to complete autoinstall so the deferred CIB
  will remain on the queue indefinitely. The console support
  quiesced bit TCTVCFQ can not be set until the CIB queues are all
  empty, and shutdown can not complete until console support has
  been quiesced.

  DFHZACT has been extended to clean-up TCTCATWE if the ATTACH
  of CATA fails with the NOT_ENABLED_FOR_SHUTDOWN reason code
  AND the request is for a console.
