Error description
When you execute your CICS program using the CICS Execution Diagnostic Facility ( CEDF ) , the EXEC CPSM CONNECT fails with RESPONSE 1034 NOTAVAILABLE and REASON 1334 CPSMAPI. Additional Symptoms and Keywords: KIXREVSCB When you execute the program without CEDF , the EXEC CPSM CONNECT command is successful. When using CEDF, and the EXEC CPSM CONNECT command is preceded by a CICS command, the EXEC CPSM CONNECT is successful.
Local fix
Add a CICS command before the EXEC CPSM CONNECT command; for example: EXEC CICS ASKTIME EXEC CPSM CONNECT
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CPSM CONNECT command from an * * application program fails with * * RESPONSE 1034, REASON 1334 when * * run under CEDF. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If an EXEC CPSM CONNECT command is the first API command in an application when running under CEDF, the EXEC CPSM command will not be executed, resulting in a RESPONSE of 1034 (NOTAVAILABLE) and REASON of 1334 (CPSMAPI) from the CICSPlex SM stub. DFHERM calls the CICSPlex SM stub for FORMATEDF processing and the stub sets UEPEDFND to suppress the EDF display of the command. DFHERM therefore bypasses the call to CEDF to display the TRUE call parameter list. It also bypasses setting up EISEIPR1 to address the callers R1 for the command for the use of CEDF. However, after bypassing the call to CEDF, DFHERM is checking EISEIPR1 to see if it has been set to 0 by CEDF, indicating that the user has requested that the Resource Manager request be NO-OPed under CEDF. In this case EISEIPR1 is 0, not because it has been set to such under CEDF, but because it has not yet been set at all. This leads DFHERM to bypass the call to the resource manager and so the EXEC CPSM CONNECT request is never executed. This problem could occur from any TRUE where the stub sets UEPEDFND for FORMATEDF processing. Additional keywords: RMCAL DFHRMCAL EYU9XLAP REGISTER REG REGISTER1 REG1
Problem conclusion
DFHERM has been altered to ensure that EISEIPR1 is initialized to the callers R1 for a request function.
