PK70914: TASK CIRR BEING SUSPENDED AT RZRSTRAN

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Task xxxxx is the request processor for an EJB request. It
  successfully processes the request and sends the reply back.
  It then waits for a subsequent request or an OTS related flow.
  This wait is limited by the OTS timeout.
  .
  There are no new requests before the OTS timeout expires so
  the task gets cancelled and begins to go through backout.  At
  exactly the same time a new EJB request for this transaction
  comes in. CIRR task zzzzz receives this and, as it is part of
  the same transaction as xxxxx decides to JOIN it.
  xxxxx is notified and zzzzz suspends waiting for xxxxx to be
  ready to receive the new request. xxxxx continues transaction
  backout and terminates the requeststream. This termination does
  not resume zzzzz so it remains hung on RZRSTRAN.

  An EJB request is processed as part of an OTS transaction, then
  the request processor waits for the next request.  The OTS
  timeout is reached and the request processor begins termination
  processing.  At the same time, a new request for this EJB is
  received, and the request receiver attempts to join it to the
  same request processor, and then waits for notification.  But
  the request processor is terminating and ignores the request, so
  the request receiver waits indefinitely.

Problem conclusion

• The request processor has been modified to set a flag indicating
  that joins are not possible before it begins termination
  processing.
