Error description

  • Abend AEZJ (CONTAINERERR/CHANNELERR) appears when doing a
    Distributed program link (DPL) from CICS to CICS via IPIC
    protocol by using exit XPCREQ. Abend AEYR (ISCINVREQ) appears
    when the DPL is issued from CTG site via IPIC protocol and by
    using exit XPCREQ .
    .
    The problem is in DFHEPC. When DFHEPC has been called for a LINK
    request the original parameters list is saved and a new one
    constructed for exits XPCREQ, XPCERES and XPCEREC.
    The new parameters list does not have the CHANNEL name
    associated with the LINK request. It's pointer is x'00000000'.
    This causes the first 8 bytes of low core to be used as a
    CHANNEL name. This results in a CHANNELERR condition.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    CICS Transaction Gateway 7.1 communicates with a CICS
    Transaction Server region using an IPIC connection. The CICS TS
    region has global user exit program XPCREQ active. The
    transaction run in the CICS TS region issues a DPL request to
    run another transaction in another CICS TS region.
    The transaction run in the first CICS TS region fails with
    abendAEZJ (CONTAINERERR) and abendAEYR (ISCINVREQ condition not
    handled) because a channel name being passed to the second CICS
    region contains zeros.
    A similar problem can occur with 2 CICS TS regions which are
    communicating using an IPIC connection when GLUE XPCREQ is
    active.
    The problem is caused by DFHISXF building an incorrect DPL
    parameter list. DFHEPC makes a copy of this incorrect DPL
    parameter list and passes this to XPCREQ when it is active. The
    copied DPL parameter list does not contain the channel name. It
    is this copy that is used in the subsequent DPL request.

    Additional keywords: CHANNELERR AEZV abendAEZV LINK CSMI

Problem conclusion

  • DFHISXF has been changed to ensure that the DPL parameter list
    is correctly built.
