Error description

  • The CPSM WUI currently has a frameset title (browser title bar)
    of the following:
    .
    CICSPlex SM Web User Interface - <applid> - <userid>
    .
With multiple browser windows open, each to a different view,
and minimized to the Windows task bar, it can be difficult to
find the window you want, as they don't tell you which view they
    are currently on.
    .
This APAR is being opened to add additional information to the
frameset title so that it contains the current view name.

WUI screens are normally contained within an HTML frameset.
The frameset is delivered with a title that is typically:

    CICSPlex SM Web User Interface - <applid> - <userid>

Most web browsers will use this title as the basis of the
    window title.

Within the frameset is a frame called 'Workarea'. The
'Workarea' frame contains the view or menu that the user
is working with. The 'Workarea' frame contains its own
title, for example 'Main menu', 'CICS regions' etc.

If a user has a number of WUI windows open, because of the
constant window title, users might have to navigate to each
window in order to identify the required window.

Problem conclusion

  • The frameset that is delivered when a window that is opened
has been updated to include a new JavaScript routine called
    EYUTITLE.

The EYUTITLE routine contains a function that will cause the
'Workarea' frame's current title to be appended to the
    frameset's window title.

The frameset titles have been changed to:

    <userid> - <applid> - CICSPlex SM WUI

The HTML for the 'Workarea' frame has been updated to request
that the function within EYUTITLE is to be run whenever the
    frame is reloaded.

These changes will typically cause the web browser to use a
    window title of :

    <title> - <userid> - <applid> - CICSPlex SM WUI - <browser name>

Because this change is based on JavaScript, JavaScript must be
enabled in the browser for this function to work. If JavaScript
is not enabled, the frameset title will be used, typically:

    <userid> - <applid> - CICSPlex SM WUI - <browser name>

Various other view titles have been made to make them consistent
    with the new frameset title:

    - 'CICSPlex SM Web User Interface Editor' to 'Editor Selection'
    - 'CICSPlex SM Web User Interface User Editor' to 'User Editor'
      Selection'
    - Signon and Signoff related titles have been updated to
abbreviate 'Web User Interface' to WUI.

EYU0VISF which builds the HTML for various error pages has been
updated to use a frame title that matches the frame heading.
