PK74141: AFTER APPLYING UK32587, MAP USING 3270 BRIDGE DISPLAYS INCORRECTLY. 09/02/12 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After installing CICS 3.1 maintenace to your region, results of
  running your application using the 3270 bridge are incorrect.
  No messages are displayed but you are receiving incorrect
  results on the map.
  The problem is caused by the APAR PK56046 on PTF UK32587.
  You have a map with protected map fields defined with the FSET
  option.  The field data for these fields should be received on
  an EXEC CICS RECEIVE MAP command.
  
  CICS uses html tags such as :-
  ' <input type="hidden" name="F050170001_TYP1" value=" ">' when
  sending this type of field.  The CICS auxtrace shows the hidden
  input fields are present on the first SEND-MAP but have
  disappeared by the second.  The symbolic representation of the
  fields sent on the first SEND-MAP should be retained for the
  second SEND-MAP unless the application has changed them.
  However, these symbolic references do get updated during
  RECEIVE-MAP processing.
  
  As this is a protected field, the browser will not pass any data
  in for this field on the next leg of the pseudo-conversation.
  Consequently, the next RECEIVE-MAP will not receive any data for
  this field.  It should always be receiving data for a protected
  field defined with FSET.

  Following PK56046 a 3270 web bridge application will no longer
  receive any data from a field which is defined as protected and
  has the MDT (modified data tag) set following a SEND MAP
  DATAONLY command which does not set a value for the
  field attribute in the FROM data. The code added by PK56046
  prevents a hidden input field being generated for the field in
  this case.
  

Problem conclusion

• UK32587 UK32588 UK35919 UK37483 UK37484 UK40895
  DFHWBBMS has been altered to generate a hidden input field
  for a field which is currently protected and has the mdt
  flag set in its attribute byte.
