Error description
The CONVERT_DATA function in DFHCCNVG, used for container CCSID conversion, does not preserve DBCS shift information between segments of a multi-segment message when z/OS conversion is used (for example when the other CCSID is UTF-8). This means the conversion will generate incorrect output if either the input or output is in DBCS shift across a segment boundary. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS Users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DBCS shift information is not preserved * * correctly when converting multi-segment * * messages. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The subcodepage value returned from z/OS Conversion Services for the conversion of the last character in a message segment was not saved so that when z/OS Conversion Services was called to convert the next segment of the message it always used a subcodepage value of zero. If the last character in the first segment was MBCS the shift state was lost and the subsequent characters in the next segment were converted as SBCS.

Comments
DFHCCNVG has been amended to preserve the DBCS shift state across segment boundaries during z/OS conversion by saving the subcodepage value of the last character in the segment returned from z/OS Conversion Services and then setting the same subcodepage value on the call to z/OS Conversion Services to convert the subsequent segment.
