Error description

  • CKQC STOP FORCE request hangs since migrating to CICS 3.2. The
dump shows that the MQ disconnect task, CKSD, is doing EXEC CICS
DELAY requests in the SHUT_DISC_RTN proc of DFHMQDSC, waiting
for all tasks that have done MQ work to complete. However, there
is still one MQ task still in the system. In CICS 3.1, this MQ
task would not have prevented the connection from shutting down
    or being forced down.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
Shut down of the CICS WMQ attach shipped with CICS Transaction
Server for z/OS V3.2 fails to act in the same way as the
    previous attach shipped via WMQ.
The two problems which will be corrected in this APAR are:
. When WMQ has been quiesced twice without a CICS restart the
second quiesce of WMQ will hang forever. The reason for this
is that the CKAM transaction uses an open TCB to access WMQ
via a WMQ thread. CKAM is never terminated and therefore WMQ
still has the WMQ thread active which prevents the quiesce
      from completing.
. When the CICS WMQ attach is force closed using the CKQC
transaction the attach may not close because of a CICS WMQ
transaction which is in a wait. This transaction will not be
force purged and so the CICS WMQ attach will hang until the
CICS transaction comes out of its wait.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHMQMON has been changed to ensure the CKAM transaction starts
a new instance of itself before it terminates.
DFHMQDSC, DFHMQTRU and DFHMQLOT have been changed to force purge
any transactions using the CICS WMQ attach and therefore allow
    the attach to complete shutdown.
