Error description
NOTIFY_ERROR routine is called in module DFHWBSO due to tid_wbso_notify_error being set. CICS is being driven through this path due to an ECONNABORTED condition on a client socket which had an ASYNC RECEIVE outstanding. When driven via this path, the clientipaddress and tcpipservice message inserts, for message DFHWB0153, are not primed so DFHWBSO is passing random stack storage to the message domain. The message domain issues message DFHME0121 when trying to format the DFHWB0153 message. Message domain thinks it has received "Invalid DBCS format" data . Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: MSGDFHME0121 reports an invalid DBCS * * format error when CICS tries to issue * * message DFHWB0153. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** An HTTP client socket is in an asynchronous receive. This receive completes with an ECONNABORTED error. DFHWBSO is called to process the error and it calls a subroutine which attempts to issue MSGDFHWB0153. DFHWBSO tries to pass two message inserts to message domain - the TCPIPSERVICE name and the CLIENT IP address. However, the domain call which initializes these fields gets bypassed in this situation and garbage is passed to message domain. One of the message inserts contains a spurious shift-in (X'0F') without a preceding shift-out (X'0E'). This results in message DFHME0121 with system dump code ME0121.

Comments
DFHWBSO has been changed to ensure that both the TCPIPSERVICE name and CLIENT IP address are correctly passed to message domain for message DFHWB0153.
