Error description

  • If CPSM program resource EYUTVTME is not defined in CICS region,
and transaction COVC attempts to issue a message, it will get
into a loop and cause the region to go SOS. The storage will be
out of the ECDSA. Browsing the storage you will see the
    following in the eye-catcher area
    .
          EYUBVKSBSTAKHDR
    .
    and repeated messages
    .
EYUVS0120E UNABLE TO LOAD RESOURCE TABLE (EYUTVTME).

When an overflow stack block is required, module EYU0VKES
(VKES - GETMAIN Storage to Extend WUI Stack) is called to get
and format a block of storage as a stack extension. VKES also
writes a USER trace record but the trace identifies VKES as the
active method and the calling method, making it difficult to
    identify the real requestor.
The CPSM dump verb exit EYU9D320 issues message EYUDV0106E
and terminates if a valid Kernel Linkage Work Area (XLWA)
cannot be located in the dumped region. However the WUI may
write trace records in the CPSM format in a region without an
XLWA. EYU9D320 should be able to format these trace records.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY

Comments

  • Module EYU0VKES was modified to copy the last four characters
of the calling module name from the caller's stack header into
    the trace record being constructed.
Copy module EYUBDVKE (CPSM Verb Exit Keyword Table Entry Map)
was modified to define a new bit flag identifying options which
do not require a valid XLWA to process. This flag was set for
the TRC keyword in module EYU0DVKW (DVKW - Verb Exit Keyword
Parser). Module EYU0DVJF (DVJF - Verb Exit Job Format Driver)
was also modified to process keyword options for which a valid
XLWA is not required, if an XLWA cannot be found in the dump for
    the current job.
